What this meme means to address is how because of racism, there is a heirachy, one that posits there is such a thing as “good physical features” and “bad physical features” and among the “bad” is anything black. There’s all these products for white women that say they can have VOLUME and CURLS and WILD HAIR but then all the ones for us is to “tame” our voluminous, curly hair because it’s considered too “ethnic”, and “nappy”, which is a bad thing? That’s some racist bullshit. Derailing it with hokey “We R All Hooman BeeIngz” is NOT the way to address racism and erases POC experiences and perspective. Lmfao. Thank you for understanding! Geeeeez. I got so many messages and reblogs with comments like, “Well volume and nappy are two very different things” and other bullshit like that.
